Training Requirements

In order to test from White Belt to Yellow Stripe, you will need to accomplish the following:


Children (6 to 11 Years Old)-

02- Months of training

25- Attended Classes


Teens & Adults (ages 12 & up)-

02- Months of training

25- Attended Classes

Additional Requirements

No additional requirements at this level

Test Composition

The Written Test

The written test is the first stage of testing.  It comprises of questions from your Taekwon-Do knowledge.  It is important to study your booklets / hand-outs as well as attend classes.

The Physical Test

Upon completion of your written test, each student must undergo a physical test.  Each Physical Test is comprised of Running, Jump Rope, Push-ups, Sit-ups, squats and speed kicks.

The Technical Test

After completing the Written Test and the Physical Test, students move on to go through the technical test.  This section is comprised of Fundamentals, Kicking Drills, Patterns, Sparring, Self-Defense and Breaking.

White Belt Physical Test

Cardio & Coordination

To complete this portion of the Physical Test, each student must complete the following:


03 minutes of jogging

03 minutes of jump rope

Strength & Conditioning

To complete this portion of the Physical Test, each student must complete the following:


10 proper Push-ups

10 proper Sit-ups

10 deep knee bends

10 Speed Front Snap Kicks (each leg)

Fundamental Movements

Here is a list of Fundamental Movements that a White Belt student must learn:


- Parallel Stance Middle Punch

- Walking Stance Middle Obverse Punch

- Walking Stance Low Forearm Block

- Walking Stance Low Knife-hand Block

- Walking Stance Middle Inner Forearm Block

- Walking Stance Middle Reverse Punch

Kicking Drills & Combinations

Here is a list of Kicking Drills & Kicking Combinations a White Belt student must learn:


- Front Rising Kick

- Outward Crescent Kick

- Inward Crescent Kick

- Side Rising Kick

- Front Snap Kick

Patterns

Here is a list of Patterns that a White Belt student must learn:


- Saju Jirugi / Four Direction Punch (14-movements)

- Saju Makgi / Four Direction Block (16-movements)


Technically speaking - these are NOT patterns.  They are fundamental exercises which prepare students for patterns which start at Yellow Stripe.

Sparring Exercises & Drills

- 3 Step Sparring #1

- 3 Step Sparring #2

- Sparring Stance (Switching)

- Sparring Foot work Drill #1 - Forward & backward stepping

- Sparring Combo:  Jab, Cross, Front Snap Kick

Self-Defense

Here is a list of Self-Defense Requirements that a White Belt student must learn:


- Front Break Fall

- Back Break Fall

- Wrist Release (cross grab & straight grab)

Breaking

There is no Breaking Requirement at this level.
